With the critical R:COM real-time tracking information at their fingertips, fleet managers can make quick, efficient decisions that result in improved business operations, improved fleet flexibility and deliver higher service levels.

R:COM allows real-time tracking of single or multiple vehicles, accurately displaying their locations on digital maps along with the routes travelled and its detailed historical analysis.

Vehicle position is gathered every second by the R:COM Tracker Module and sent automatically via GPRS to the Control Centre either at pre-scheduled intervals (by default every 2 minutes) or instantly, when a vehicle-related event occurs. Alternatively the user can request an immediate vehicle position update when required. If the primary GPRS communications is unavailable then the system can be instructed to deliver the updates via SMS.
By default the system reports position, date, time and speed with each location update.

Additional live Information from other vehicle electronic devices

If the R:COM Tracker is connected to other electronic devices on the vehicle then the R:COM Tracker can be configured to transmit select information from these devices back to the control centre with each location update such as fuel level, odometer, refrigeration units settings, temperature, driver hours remaining, etc.. This additional information is displayed in balloon pop-ups and also in the report tables.

More detailed information from these other electronic devices is recorded by the R:COM Tracker and downloaded at predefined intervals to the Control Centre where it can be reported using the appropriate R:COM Reports software module.
